Hey, it's me chiming in answering some questions!

For those wondering about the Mirror's Edge influence, you guys would be right in that the game was a major influence in my work during my last year in Art college. I had heavy interest in Swedish graphic design beforehand, [IKEA for example,] so when I got my hands on Mirror's Edge, it only pushed me over the limit to attempt that type of style myself.

To TJ: The bag in the image is indeed a runners bag. On DevianART, the description for that image lists the bag as an "Easter Egg Homage" to Mirror's Edge and what it did to help propel my artistic abilities forward. The team who have worked on Mirror's Edge have seen my work before, and they love the inspiration I've drawn from the game. The second image [the yellow one] is a direct reference to Mirror's Edge as well. At that point in my schooling, I had never created a scene before with ambient color bleeding, so I used the yellow walls often found in the game to attempt it.

Today my work has departed greatly from the style of Mirror's Edge -- mostly because I was never looking to copy the style for my real professional work -- you could consider these images as being exercises I did for myself during college.
It's merely an influence on my latest images -- while I'm drawing more influence these days from my Boston surroundings, Tekkonkinkreet, classics like Cowboy Bebop and FLCL, and real places like Tokyo.

Scenes like these always remind me that we are living in a future we could not have imagined 10 years ago. Most of these images have nothing hugely futuristic and most look like they could be from any big city: Tokyo, LA or wherever; and yet they exude an intensely Scifi vibe all the same. Just like that short in the Animatrix...

Totally mirrors edge. If second picture doesnt remind you of mirrors edge then the backpack being carted out of the subway on the fourth one down should, simply because it IS the backpack from Mirrors edge (go figure.)

Lita, that's exactly what I was thinking! The monocolor-yet-vibrant walls are what bring it out, I think.
